From Doctor To Apple Blogger

If you follow the Apple rumor mill, no doubt that you’ve visited MacRumors. I don’t usually pay too much attention to Apple rumors, but I know a lot of people do. If you’re interested in the man behind MacRumors, the NY Times has a great article about him. Arnold Kim has been running MacRumors for eight years and recently stopped practicing medicine to run MacRumors full time. Head on over to the NT Times to read the rest of the article. Congratulations to Kim for being able to blog full time!

WordPress For iPhone Coming Soon

For everyone who has an iPhone and a WordPress based website, the team behind WordPress is releasing an iPhone app that you will want to download. WordPress for iPhone is currently “In Review” in the app store. The website linked above has a great screencast of the application. I’ll be downloading this the day it’s released. This app sure would be better with cut and paste though!

What’s It Like To Develop On The iPhone?

nnw_iphone.png

Curios about developing on the iPhone? Charlie Sorrel, from Wired, has a short interview with Brent Simmons, the developer of NetNewsWire. The article goes into some of the issues with current development efforts for the iPhone. Coincidently, NetNewsWire (iTunes link) was the first application I uninstalled on my iPhone. Which is odd since I’m such a huge fan of it on the Mac.

New Article Type Coming To AMHQ

I keep a running list of post ideas for Apple Mac HQ. When I find something that would make a good article, I post the link or idea to Backpack. Sometimes the idea gets buried in my list and I lose track of it. Other times someone has written about the topic before I have time to compose an article, so I lose interest in writing about it myself. But most often I just can’t find the time to write up a full post about the topic. Today I’m going to do something about those times when I feel like the topic is something others would want to read, but I just can’t seem to find the time to write a full article about it. Enter Shorties.

Shorties are basically an aside, I’m just calling it something different. John Gruber uses this technique quite often. It’s a great way to share something you feel is important, but you don’t have the time commitment of a typical article. Expect to see the posting frequency tick up a little due to this. I hope you will enjoy the increase in content!
